Aintree Race Track History & Information

Undeniably one of the most famous racecourses, Aintree, home to the Grand National held racing dating back to the early 1800's. When you consider even some of the fences at Aintree are famous (example Bechers Book, Canal Turn) you begin to realize how important the track is to National Hunt horse racing. The majority of the races are actually run on the Mildmay course despite the National course perhaps being more famous. Additionally there is a separate hurdles course.. Aintree statistics here
